Visconti Van Gogh Irises Rollerball Pen - Scottsdale Pen and Knife

Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890) created more than 900 vibrant and emotionally charged paintings, some of which are the most recognizable and best loved in Western art. Sadly, he only sold one of those pieces during his short lifetime. His finest works are notable for their swirling motion, impassioned brush strokes, and intensity of color.

Visconti recaptures some of Vincent's magic in the newly redesigned Van Gogh collection featuring 18-sided barrels of vegetal resin and magnetic closures. The fountain pen has a stainless steel nib and a cartridge/converter filling system. The Van Gogh series also allows for some customization with the Visconti My Pen System which allows the purchaser to replace the pen cap logo with two initials. Each of the Van Gogh pens comes packaged in a presentation box featuring a reproduction of the painting that inspired it.

Vincent Van Gogh started painting the Irises during his first week at the asylum in Saint-Remy, France in 1889. The iris garden was the only place Van Gogh was able to paint during his first month at the asylum.
