Spyderco didn't know how much demand would be created when they introduced the Native5 with fluted titanium handles. These absolutely stunning knives have been on heavy backorder, and it took five months for us to come up with one for you. You won't be disappointed either!

Parker Premier Luxury now at Scottsdale Pen and Knife
Parker has a major hit with the Premier line, which I believe got it's start in 2009. Since then they've added new finishes, the latest of which includes the Luxury series featuring "soft touch" finishes and an art deco flair.

Emerson Knives Horseman at Scottsdale Pen and Knife
As any knife fan knows, finding Emerson Knives for sale is always a challenge as the demand far exceeds the supply. We recently acquired the Horseman, which is actually a Mini-CQC8, fondly known as the "Banana" in knife circles. It's an excellent design with great ergonomics. The Wave feature is standard, allowing for lightning fast deployment.

Colibri Ascari Ballpoints now at Scottsdale Pen and Knife
Colibri has just released the Ascari ballpoints to match the rollerballs that came out in December, 2012. These are crafted from anodized aluminum in matte black, red, and blue with Pachmayr texturing on the barrels. These are twist action ballpoints that employ a common Parker-style refill.

Oregon Vacation a Success
During the last week of September we were up in Oregon, spending two days in Portland and five days in a rented beach house at Gleneden Beach. This was just south of Lincoln City. We had two days of sunshine, two days mostly cloudy, and the rest with on and off rain. Pretty typical Oregon weather...
Besides having a great time with our two adult kids, highlights included a couple of wonderful hikes, waterfalls, beach combing, and great food. In Portland we enjoyed the Saturday Market, Voodoo Donuts, the Chinese Gardens and general walking about. We also did the Latourell Falls Hike (long loop) out at the Columbia River Gorge.
On the coast we did some shopping at the Tanger Outlet Stores where we stocked up on new rain gear, and then had a great time doing the Drift Creek Falls Trail and suspension bridge hike (in the rain). We also got up to the Tillamook Cheese Factory, always a fun place, and did the Three Capes Scenic Drive while in the area. We did tour as far south as Newport - we visited the Yaquina Point Lighthouse and Cobble Beach. We were there on a windy, rainy day, so it was very dramatic up in the tower - the wind was whistling past. Perfect lighthouse weather! You can see the spiral staircase below.
