Visconti Pininfarina Carbongrafite Retractable Fountain Pen

Two Italian masters of design and technology have teamed up to create the Visconti Pininfarina Carbongrafite retractable fountain pen. Visconti is, of course, a pen company, while Pininfarina is an automotive design house.

The twist-action activated Visconti Pininfarina Retractable fountain pen, which is a cartridge/converter design, showcases the Smartouch tubular chromium nib that debuted in 2012 on the Opera Typhoon and Opera Crystal pens. It resists drying out, which is an important ingredient with a capless retractable pen. However, there is an airtight trapdoor that closes over the nib when retracted.

Carbongrafite is a lightweight but immensely strong mixture of carbon fiber and graphite similar to that used in high performance sports cars. This is the first time this material has been used for a pen - it is virtually indestructable and does not stain or show signs of wear even in extensive testing.

MSRP $1895.00
